Six Senses agrees Alpine Retreat
Top Hotel News
Six Senses Kitzbühel Alps will be home to a 77-room hotel and a selection of private residences, including 30 apartments and 10 villas.
Prime location
The resort will be set in prime location with views over the highest peaks of the Austrian Alps within a national park in the largest protected wildlife reserve of the mountain range
Open all year round, Six Senses Kitzbühel Alps will enable owners and guests to experience both winter and summer seasons, with ski-in and ski-out access to the ski resort.
Cutting edge wellness
Amenities will include a cutting edge Six Senses Spa and wellness experience which will deliver the latest tech in bio-hacking and longevity science, and a variety of innovative all-organic food and beverage offerings.
Relaxation offerings will include a range of signature massages, therapies and treatments alongside facilities including an indoor lap pool, heated outdoor rock pools, a variety of saunas and steam baths, and an indoor and outdoor gym.
Local materials
Drawing inspiration from classic Austrian chalets, interiors will be designed by master interior designer Martin Brudnizki, who will integrate Kitzbühel’s natural light along with locally sourced materials, such as stone directly from the site and wood from the region.
Architecture by IAW will pay homage to the narrow and pointed roof designed houses in Kitzbühel old town, whilst incorporating the surrounding Alpine nature.
Self-sufficiency aim
As with all Six Senses locations, sustainability will be integral to the Alpine resort with an aim to build a self-sufficient community by 2030, powered entirely by solar energy, green electricity and geothermal energy.
Six Senses Kitzbühel Alps is scheduled to open at the end of 2025.
Happiness space
Michael Staininger, owner of the Kitzbühel project, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding Six Senses’ Alpine offering, especially into such a coveted resort as Kitzbühel. We’ve worked hard to develop a project that will do much more for Alpine tourism and the local community than being yet another ultra-luxury resort.
“We want to create a space where people experience true happiness and wholeness. Where body and mind are connected, and where so many things that got lost in the digital hustle can be re-established. We need to learn to have fun again, and feel good about it!”
European expansion
Already in Six Senses’ European pipeline is Six Senses at the Whiteley London in the west of the UK capital, which will mark the brand’s national debut. The 110-key site is due to open in Q2 2024.
Further ahead, the 50-key Six Senses Loire Valley will arrive in France in Q1 2025, and Six Senses Antognolla will bring 68 rooms online in Italy’s Perugia region in Q2 2026.
